Last updated on: August 27, 2021
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy sets out how we, Bluur. (“Bluur”), use and protect your personal data that you provide to us, or that is otherwise obtained or generated by us, in connection with your use of our cloud-based messaging services (the “Services”). For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refers to Bluur, and ‘you’ refers to you, the user of the Services.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO OUR PRIVACY PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY, YOU MUST NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE. YOUR USE OF ANY PART OF THE SERVICE CONSTITUTES YOUR AGREEMENT TO OUR PRIVACY PRACTICES.
1.1 Privacy Principles
Bluur has two fundamental principles when it comes to collecting and processing private data:
-
We don't use your data to show you ads.
-
We only store the data that Bluur needs to function as a secure and feature-rich messaging service.
2. Legal Ground for Processing Your Personal Data
We process your personal data on the ground that such processing is necessary to further our legitimate interests (including: (1) providing effective and innovative Services to our users; and (2) to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud or security issues in respect of our provision of Services), unless those interests are overridden by your interest or fundamental rights and freedoms that require protections of personal data.
3. What Personal Data We Use
3.1. Basic Account Data
Bluur is a communication service. You provide your basic account data (which may include profile name, profile picture and about information) to create a Bluur account.
To make it easier for your contacts and other people to reach you and recognize who you are, the screen name you choose, your profile pictures, and your username (should you choose to set one) on Bluur are always public. We don't want to know your real name, gender, age or what you like.
We do not require your screen name to be your real name.
As part of this process, you will need to sign-in using your Facebook login and permit Bluur to access certain information from your Facebook account (“ FB Account Info”) such as your birthday, email address.
Information Collected Automatically. We automatically collect information from your browser or device when you visit the Service. This information could include your IP address, device ID and type, your browser type and language, the operating system used by your device, access times, your mobile device’s geographic location when the App is opened or is actively running, and the referring website address.
3.2. Your Messages
3.3. Cloud Chats
Bluur is a cloud service. We store messages from your cloud chats on our servers so that you can access your data from any of your devices anytime without having to rely on third-party backups.
4. Keeping Your Personal Data Safe
4.1. Retention
Unless stated otherwise in this Privacy Policy, the personal data that you provide us will only be stored for as long as it is necessary for us to fulfill our obligations in respect of the provision of the Services.
Community standards.
We want Bluur to remain authentic and safe. Help us nurture this community by not spamming them or posting nudity.
We created the Community Standards so you can help us nurture and protect this amazing community. By using Bluur, you agree to these terms and our Terms of Use. We are committed to complying with these standards and we hope that you will, too. Failure to follow these rules may result in content removal, account disabling, or other restrictions.
Post photos and videos that are appropriate for a diverse audience.
We are aware that some people may want to share artistic or creative nude images; however, for various reasons, we do not allow nudity to be posted on Bluur. This restriction applies to photos and certain digital content that show fully exposed sexual acts, genitalia and close-ups of the buttocks. It also includes photos of uncovered female nipples, but images are allowed in the lactation, delivery, and postpartum contexts, in health-related situations (for example, postmastectomy, breast cancer awareness, or sex confirmation surgery), or as an act of protest. Nude photos of paintings and sculptures are also accepted.
People like to share photos or videos of their children. For security reasons, we may occasionally remove images showing partially or fully nude children. Even if this content is shared with good intentions, it could be used in an unforeseen way by others.
We do not show any tolerance for those who share sexual content related to minors or who threaten to post intimate images of other users.
It is unacceptable to encourage violence or attack someone for reasons of race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, sexual identity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, disability or illness. We may allow hate speech if it is shared to challenge or raise awareness about these behaviors. In these cases, we ask you to express your intention clearly.
No serious threats to public and personal safety are allowed. These threats include specific threats to physical integrity and threats of theft, vandalism, and other financial damage. We carefully review threat reports and consider many factors when determining whether they are credible.
